How TurnPanel can learn from completed Jobs and improve a Space over time.

## What runs

After a Job becomes quiet, TurnPanel can make it searchable, save useful facts to the Space’s memory, and improve Skills you allowed it to update. Maintenance shows what is waiting or running, why it is waiting, which Job it came from, and any Skill changes.

The maintenance queue separates search indexing, memory learning, and Skill updates.

## Model and budget

- Choose the model used for this work under Models > Background model. TurnPanel asks before it repeatedly uses a paid online model.

### Choose the model for automatic maintenance

**Context:** Background model

Models → Agent models → Background model selects the model profile used for periodic memory, Skill, and maintenance work, with online disclosure and paid confirmation where applicable.

- **Local** [local]: Uses the already loaded local model
- **Online** [online]: Shows provider data disclosure
- **Paid option** [waiting]: Requires cost acknowledgement
- TurnPanel limits how many learning tasks can use a model each day. Turning off the Background model stops new AI-powered learning, but search indexing and work already prepared may still finish.


## Foreground work wins

Your active work gets priority. If both tasks need the local model, background learning pauses and resumes after TurnPanel is quiet. It always follows the Space’s existing access rules.


## Skill changes

TurnPanel can change only enabled Skills that you own and have allowed to evolve. Protected or manually written sections stay unchanged, and you can restore earlier versions from Maintenance.
